Thinking about attending our main gathering on Sunday? Here are some things that might be helpful -
How Should I Dress? We are very casual at Missio Dei. But whatever you want to wear will be just fine, as long as you’re wearing something you should be good.
What’s the Music Like? Our music, much like everything at Missio Dei, is centered upon Jesus and the gospel. We play a mix of older hymns and current worship songs, led with a guitar and a percussion. Most of the time our music is fairly laid back but we aren’t opposed to cranking it up once in a while either.
How Long is the Service? Our formal service time is about an hour and a half; beginning at 10am and ending by 11:30am.
What’s the Preaching Like? We do place a great deal of emphasis upon our time of teaching and preaching. The sermon portion of the service is typically 45 minutes. Sometimes we go straight through books of the Bible and at others times we cover topics but whatever the format our times will always be centered upon Jesus and the gospel.
What is there for my kids? We have children’s church available for the kids ages 0-5th grade. All of our children ages 5 and up sit with their parents during the music portion of our service, kids ages 5-5th grade are then dismissed for a teaching tailored to their learning level, all other young people are invited to join their parents for the entire service.
Will I Feel Pressured to Give? We do not pass a plate at Missio Dei. We have an offering box in the back of the room where those that consider Missio Dei their church home can give. If you’re a visitor we would love to have you come attend our gathering without feeling any pressure to give financially.
Is Communion Open? We celebrate communion every week at Missio Dei. The bread and juice/wine are on a table in the front of the room and are open for any Christian who would like to join us in celebrating the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus as our only means of forgiveness and restoration.
