Who We Are

Our Vision -

It is our vision to faithfully obey the Great Commission by making growing disciples of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:16-20). We are a church that is committed to making disciples, who then in turn make disciples (2 Timothy 2:2).

Our Mission -

Vision is great, but how do we plan on making it happen? In a word…Gospel. Simply put we want our people, and our world to “get the gospel” both as the only means to conversion and the only means to grow as a Christian.

Our vision, to make disciples of Jesus, can only come to fruition through Gospel proclamation (Romans 10:14-17) and Gospel appropriation (Ephesians 2:8-10). As the Gospel is preached and believed lives are transformed and people are made into disciples of Jesus.

Our Core Values -

1. Gospel (The good news that while we are desperately sinful we are infinitely loved)

2. Community (We are a redeemed people who gather together to celebrate Jesus and live life together)

3. Mission (As God’s mission reaches us it then compels us to reach others)

What is Missio Dei? -

Missio Dei is Latin for the mission or sending of God. We are called to be a sent people, on mission, to the world, with Jesus, by the power of the Spirit, for the glory of the Father… this is Missio Dei.

In John 20:21 Jesus said, “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

The reason for naming our church this rather obscure Latin phrase is because we want to infuse into our church community the understanding that we are on mission with God, sent by Him to live out the gospel in our context.

We believe that Jesus is still on mission in the world. The question is how can we join in this mission? What needs to change in order for us to begin to live for the grand purpose of God? What if the Church were to recapture her sense of sent-ness in the world? What if every Christian stopped seeing mission as something “those people do over there” and was liberated to be on mission in his or her immediate context by seeing it as “what we do right here”?

It’s time that we begin to see the Church as who we are and not where we go…a sent people not a sacred building.
