The Bible is our creed. Therefore, any effort to define what we believe necessitates a desire to emphasize the whole Word of God as the source of our core beliefs. The Bible cannot mean today what it didn’t mean when it was originally written. Therefore it is our desire to be true to the Bible’s  original languages, be respectful to its historical context, the context of each passage, and be sensitive to the various literary genres the Bible was written in (i.e. being able to discern the difference between a parable and a proverb, a prophecy and a narrative, or a NT epistle, etc.). We trust that this will enable us to understand the intended meaning and truth that is to be found in God’s inspired Word.

Furthermore, it seems unwise to be defined by the labels of much of Christendom, whether it’s Fundamentalism, Pentecostal, Calvinism, Armenianism, Charismatic, Dispensational, Reformed, etc.

It’s unrealistic to think that any individual, man-made system of beliefs is completely free from error or conversely without merit at all. It is therefore our sincere desire to be Jesus focused because He’s the best thing about us and gospel centered because that is our only hope of restoration from the brokenness of our sin.

That being said we hold to 4 key beliefs.

1. The Trinity – We believe that God is One but eternally exists in three Persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:26; Isaiah 6:8; John 1:1, 10:30-33, 14:16; Acts 5:3 cf. 5:4; Titus 2:13).

2. The Person of Jesus Christ – We believe that Jesus is both fully God and fully Man (John 1:1-5, 14, 10:30-33, 14:9; Colossians 1:15-18, 2:9; Philippians 2:5-11; Titus 2:13).

3. The work of Jesus Christ – We believe the gospel is mankind’s only means to salvation. Jesus was crucified, buried, and resurrected to atone for the sins of the world (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9; 1 Corinthians 15:1-6; 1 Timothy 2:5).

4. The authority of Scripture – We believe God’s Word is inspired by Him, is without error and contains everything we need to know about God and be known by Him (Psalm 138:2; Matthew 24:35; 2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Peter 1:22-25).
